These terms apply to your use of backerbasehq.com and to anything you send us through it, including chat messages and email. By using the website you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

1. Who we are

The website is operated by BackerBase LLC, a limited liability company organized in Wyoming, USA, with its registered address at 1621 Central Avenue, Cheyenne, WY 82001, USA. You can reach us at support@backerbasehq.com.

2. Our services

BackerBase designs, builds and runs custom fundraising platforms for organizations such as clubs, faith communities, schools and cause-based communities. On those platforms, people create fundraising pages and supporters give to them once or regularly.

Nothing on this website is an offer that you can accept. Pricing is given on request. A platform engagement is governed only by a separate written agreement between BackerBase and the organization, which prevails over these terms for that engagement. The platforms, people and amounts shown on this website are examples and illustrations.

3. Using the website

You may use the website to learn about our services and to contact us. You must not:

• use it in a way that breaks the law or infringes anyone's rights;
• try to gain unauthorised access to it, or interfere with its operation or security;
• send spam, malware or abusive content through the chat or by email;
• copy it in bulk or scrape it in a way that places an unreasonable load on it.

4. Chat and messages

We read every message and aim to reply promptly, but we do not guarantee a reply or a response time. Please do not send payment details, passwords or sensitive personal data through the chat. How we handle what you send us is explained in our Privacy Policy.

5. Rules for BackerBase platforms

Every platform we build runs under BackerBase's platform terms and the terms of our payment provider, whoever's name is on it. Platforms are for people raising support for themselves or their team, within the topic the organization defines. They are not available for:

• investment, equity or lending crowdfunding;
• lotteries, raffles or prize draws;
• political campaigns;
• any activity that is illegal, or that our payment provider does not allow.

We may decline to build, or suspend, a platform or page that breaks these rules.

6. Payments on BackerBase platforms

Payments on BackerBase platforms are processed by Stripe. Fundraisers receive their funds through their own Stripe account, and must verify their identity with Stripe and accept Stripe's terms before any payout. Supporters pay on Stripe's secure checkout, and BackerBase does not see or store card numbers or bank credentials. No payments are taken on this website.

BackerBase is a fundraising platform provider, not a charity or a registered nonprofit. Contributions made on a BackerBase platform support the person or team who owns the page and are not donations to BackerBase.

7. Intellectual property

The content, design and code of this website belong to BackerBase LLC or its licensors. You may view and share pages for your own, non-commercial purposes. Any other use needs our written permission.

8. Links to other websites

The website links to other websites, including example platforms. Each is governed by its own terms and privacy notice.

9. No warranty

We work to keep the website accurate and available, but it is provided as it is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we give no warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or suitable for a particular purpose.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, BackerBase is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data or opportunity, arising from your use of the website. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent or gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law. If you are a consumer, you keep all rights that mandatory consumer law in your country gives you.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, USA. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings in its courts.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and the version published when you use the website applies.
